Morris Furniture’s Cincinnati Store – A Glimpse of Furniture’s Future

The future of furniture retailing is on display in Cincinnati, Ohio, at the new Morris Furniture Co., Inc. location that opened in January.

Reflecting the preference of today’s shoppers for smaller, more focused shopping spaces, the new Morris complex is made up of five separate, inter-connected stores. There are multiple entrances with signage and messaging that emphasize the retailer’s expertise in mattresses, home theater furnishings and other categories.

The 72,000-square-foot complex is comprised of three Morris branded shops – The Morris Home Furnishings showroom, The Home Theater store at Morris and The Morris Outlet – as well as The Better Sleep Shop and the Fairborn, Ohio-based company’s Ashley Home Furnishings store. Martin Roberts Design Inc., Stamford, CT, is responsible for the store’s interior design, a number of innovative in-store merchandising concepts, interior signage and graphic elements—to help shoppers find intended purchases and discover items that appeal to their tastes.
